I had to uninstall Microsoft Office Enterprise due to apparent corruption of the Excel app. I was able to uninstall, but cannot re-install. There is no further information and and the only option is a 'Close' button. I had some similar difficulty Uninstalling Office , also. I ran the Fix It utility, which fixed some problems, then the Uninstall completed. I ran Fix It for Installation troubleshooting, but no problems detected was stated.
However, I experience the issue above when attempting to run installation. I only deleted the Microsoft Enterprise program. I left any update install files in place, as I was told I could do this. I have tried every thing I know of. Yes I run the install as an administrator. The manual removla doenst generate any message as all it is is deleted some directories, some specific registry keys and all that. I followed these steps strictly, restarted the pc and tried to reinstall. I think there is something which is preventing the install from progressing.
